Overview

The Medical Assistant supports healthcare providers by preparing for procedures, assisting during examinations, recording patient histories, vital signs, and lab samples, and providing patient care and support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
• Ability to perform point-of-care testing, draw blood, and prepare specimens.

Preferred qualifications include at least one year of phlebotomy or MA experience, BLS certification, and experience in ambulatory care.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient history and vital signs.
• Assist with medical procedures and examinations.
• Communicate patient information to nursing staff.
• Schedule and check-out patients, verify insurance, and handle payments.
• Transport patients within the facility and document care activities.
• Follow safety protocols and participate in ongoing education.
