Qualifications

Job description

Wage Range: $24.42 - $39.06 per hour - MA State Certified
Wage Range: $26.91 - $43.05 per hour - Nationally Certified
Bonus: Up to $5,000 for new employees at EvergreenHealth with at least one year of experience.
Bonus: Up to $2,500 for new MA graduates.
The posted wage ranges represent the entire spectrum from minimum to maximum. For roles with multiple levels, the range reflects the lowest minimum and the highest maximum. Additional premiums may be offered based on shift, certifications, or degrees. Job offers are based on relevant experience, education level, and internal equity.

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting providers in delivering quality patient care and fostering a culture of safety.

Primary Duties:
  1. Greet and room patients according to standards.
  2. Take patient histories and vital signs.
  3. Prepare patients for examinations.
  4. Assist providers with exams, surgical procedures, and diagnostic testing.
  5. Maintain sterile environments during procedures, adhering to Washington State transmission precautions.
  6. Administer injections (intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular) as per provider orders.
Competencies:
  • Efficient use of EMR systems for data entry and retrieval.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
License, Certification, Education, or Experience:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or relevant coursework for WA State Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Current WA State Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Current national certification through recognized bodies (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, AMCA).
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by the date of hire.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology.

Preferred:

  • National certification through AAMA.
  • At least one year of MA experience in a healthcare setting.
