Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Essential Functions

1. Acts as an assistant to the physician/provider by providing primary healthcare and patient care management.
2. Collaborates with clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow.
3. Interacts with outside healthcare facilities and agencies regarding patient care and insurance.
4. Maintains updated competencies and can speak to leadership and accreditation bodies about process and workflow.
5. Performs front office duties as needed.
6. Provides coverage in other departments or locations as required.
7. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and supports patient and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or certification such as LPN, EMT, ER Tech, or paramedic, with relevant experience required.
• Preference may be given to nursing students from accredited registered or licensed practice nurse programs after beginning clinical coursework.
• Completion of a clinical rotation or equivalent and relevant experience required.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or ARC upon hire required.

Physical Demands

• Seldom to frequently lifting and carrying weights from 5 lbs up to 25 lbs, with specific postures and movements as detailed.
