Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Colorado's largest cancer-care network seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant for a busy Breast Surgery Clinic. You will support surgeons and APPs, delivering excellent patient care throughout the surgical journey.

Travel between our Louisville and Longmont offices is required. Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $26.00 per hour, with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience as MA or nursing assistant.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
• Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician and verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Assists with delegated patient education including distributing education literature.
• Obtains blood specimens from peripheral sites and administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
• Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Processes instruments and equipment as needed.
• Answers patient telephone calls for referrals, gatekeeping and prescriptions.
• Schedules patient tests, procedures and hospital admissions and follow-up on receipt of test results.
• Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc.
