Job summary

BJC Corporate Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for Occupational Health in St. Louis. The role focuses on assisting physicians, performing routine clinical tasks, and supporting patient care in an outpatient setting.

The MA will obtain vitals, assist with exams, perform phlebotomy and basic testing, and help manage patient flow under supervision. No weekends or on-call required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Basic medical assistive duties performed under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks exam rooms.
• Obtain vital signs and patient history; maintain charting.
• Perform clinical skills such as phlebotomy, EKGs, injections and point-of-care testing.
• Triage calls, share test results with patients and communicate with providers.

Role Purpose

The Medical Assistant (MA) provides medical assistance under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider. This position performs select duties for the promotion of health in the care of patients and delivers care according to practice protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains accurate and prompt charting in the patient's record.
• Performs clinical skills, such as phlebotomy, electrocardiography (EKGs), point-of-care testing and injections.
• Triage calls, provide test and lab results to patients and present relevant information to provider with correct medical terminology.
