Physicians Primary Care of Southwest Florida | Fort Myers, FL 33912

Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida is a premier physician-owned and managed primary care practice with locations in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Lehigh Acres. We are excited to announce that we are accepting applications for our Medical Assistant Apprentice Program (MAAP). This program will allow you to work full-time as a Medical Assistant Apprentice while you complete the training program in up to six months. This is a full-time benefited position starting at $16/hr.

PPC will provide online classes and on-the-job training at no expense to the employee. We will purchase credentialing exam preparatory materials to include one interactive study guide and practice test through Certified Clinical Medical Assistant credentialing exam. Also included in the program is the purchase of one Certified Clinical Medical Assistant credentialing exam.

Program Highlights
  • Complete 156 hours of online classes with a minimum score of 70% within the designated timeframe of 6 months from enrolling in the program.
  • Complete 1000 hours of on-the-job training within 6 months.
  • Actively participate in the on-site administrative and clinical training through preparation via use of training materials, including textbook(s), policies and procedures, etc.
  • Openly accept feedback from administrative leaders, mentors, and coaches.
  • Obtain a PPC recognized Medical Assistant credential at program completion (within 6 months from enrollment).
  • Work full-time as a Medical Assistant Apprentice until completion of Medical Assistant certification.
  • Meet or exceed all standards of performance including time and attendance.
  • Remain in good standing throughout the work commitment period.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must enter the program with the commitment of working as a Medical Assistant for two years upon receiving the certification.
  • Must be able to work full-time as well as complete online coursework on schedule.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
