Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with MA certificate.
• Verification of appropriate hours in MA program to perform venipuncture.
• Current BLS certificate from the American Heart Association.
• Two years’ ambulatory clinic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care within clinic scope of practice.
• Collect and record patient data including vitals and BMI.
• Perform lab tests, venipuncture, and administer medications per provider orders.
• Apply aseptic technique and infection control practices.
• Schedule appointments and maintain patient records.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in safety programs.
