Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under supervision. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, completion of an accredited MA program, and CPR certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Less than 1 year of ambulatory care experience; externship preferred.
• CMA or RMA certification within 12 months; CPR required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with patient preparation, exams, and education.
• Maintains EMR documentation and patient records accurately.
• Supports clinic team to manage patient flow and safety.
• Performs point-of-care testing and basic lab tasks as required.
• Ensures infection control, safety, and supply inventory compliance.
