Job summary

Schweiger in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant for the Allergy practice. The role involves delivering high-quality clinical and clerical support in a busy dermatology setting, with allergy testing experience preferred.

Schedule includes 30+ hours weekly, with flexibility for occasional Saturdays within 7am–7pm. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of MA experience, valid MA certification, CPR/AED, and strong communication skills to ensure excellent patient experiences

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant required; allergy practice experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification required; CPR/AED certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a professional, welcoming atmosphere for patients and providers.
  • Maintain allergy protocols and standard operating procedures within the clinic.
  • Assist with allergy testing procedures and patient care workflows.
  • Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness and stocking of supplies.
  • Record treatments, medications, lab requisitions, and patient communications.
  • Support front desk tasks when needed and ensure HIPAA compliance.

Job Summary

Full-Time Medical Assistant - Allergy at our Ft. Lauderdale Office. The Allergy Medical Assistant is responsible for performing the highest quality of medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a medical setting. Previous healthcare experience is required. Allergy experience is preferred.

Schedule: Full time, 30+ hours. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7am-7pm. Open Flexibility to help cover in a team environment is needed.

Responsibilities
  • Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care offered to patients and for the respective provider.
  • Have a thorough working knowledge of all standard operating protocols and policies that pertain to the clinical department, specifically within the allergy practice.
  • Have thorough knowledge of allergy treatments and procedures to appropriately care for the patient’s needs.
  • Proficient in pre-care and post-care treatment instructions for allergy testing and immunotherapy.
  • Fully understand provider to patient flow and anticipate the provider’s next steps.
  • Adapt to the provider's workflows and support the provider to maximize quality patient care and efficiency of the practice, including tasks such as scribing, managing patient records, and assisting with patient communication.
  • Check all allergy testing equipment at the beginning of each shift and maintain all treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of allergy-related supplies and equipment as requested.
  • Complete all required training and continued education opportunities within the allotted time frame, with a focus on allergy care.
  • Assist the physician in allergy procedures, including skin prick tests, patch tests, spirometry, and immunotherapy injections.
  • Prep exam rooms for all procedures and properly clean exam rooms after every visit.
  • Properly assist the provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization, obtaining consents, and procedures within established guidelines.
  • Take payments, book follow-up visits, and track inventory used during visits as needed.
  • Learn and adhere to new workflows including Klara paperwork, patient notifications, and patient messaging.
  • Keep the office clean and remove waste.
  • Assist in covering the front desk or greeter role when the office needs.
  • Working knowledge and application of HIPAA & OSHA compliance.
  • May be asked to do additional tasks for office and patient care as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor on an as needed basis.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant required; experience in an allergy practice preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification required
  • CPR and AED Certifications required
  • Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems preferred
  • Experience with allergy testing (skin prick, patch, and spirometry) preferred
  • Must be computer savvy and familiar with Outlook
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Excellent patient relations and customer services skills
  • Strong follow up stills and ownership/accountability
  • Must be professional, reliable, and dedicated employee
  • Open availability to work during office and/or scheduled hours
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance
Salary

Hourly Pay Range: $18-22
