Job summary

Corewell Health is hiring for a Medical Assistant in the Addiction Medicine department at the Sheldon Center, Grand Rapids. This full-time position involves joining a compassionate clinic supporting patients with addiction services and working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.

The role offers a 40-hour workweek, daytime shifts, and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants. A neuropsychiatric or primary care setting experience is valued, along with BLS certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on clinical skills OR 1 year direct patient care experience in MA/LPN/Paramedic/EMT roles.
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days.
• MA certification options CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA required within 120 days.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on clinical skills OR 1 year direct patient care experience (MA, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT)

1 year of relevant healthcare experience in physician practice or healthcare setting

AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

MA certifications: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA within 120 days
