Medical Assistant performs specialized work in inpatient or ambulatory care settings. Emphasis of the work is on assisting providers, nurse managers, and Case Managers in the examination and treatment of patients and performing a variety of related clerical tasks.
Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.
Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant school is required.
Preferred: Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants or credentialing as a Registered Medical Assistant by the American Society of Medical Technologies.
Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers upon hire, with at least 6 months validity and ongoing maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
