Job summary

Women’s Care in Jacksonville, FL, is hiring a Medical Assistant to provide professional clinical care, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting providers during visits.

Responsibilities include room preparation, vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, and patient education, with emphasis on accuracy and compassionate patient care. A full-time role with opportunities to grow within a nationwide women’s health group.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • (CF) CMA preferred OR ability to obtain certification within first 120 days.
  • Graduate of nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR served in Armed Forces as Medical Technician.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred OR ability to obtain within 30 days via Women’s Care training.
  • Experience in OB/GYN or Primary Care a plus.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable.
  • Ability to use an electronic medical records system, preferably eCW.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment and testing.
  • Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area, and all other patient care areas per policies.
  • Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
  • Measure, record, and document vital signs.
  • Where applicable, perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection as directed by the provider.
  • Educate patients by providing information and instructions from the provider.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and regulations.
  • Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers.
  • Represent the office in a professional manner and treat all as customers with courtesy.
  • Attend required meetings and participate in team activities.
  • Demonstrate and embody Women’s Care mission and core values.
  • Compliance with HIPAA rules and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients and family members before, during and after a doctor’s visit.

  • Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patients.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • (FL Only) Certified Medical Assistant preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within the first 120 days of employment.
  • To be eligible for employment and to obtain an MA certification, you must be a graduate of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR served in the Armed Forces as a Medical Technician with honorable discharge.
  • Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within 30 days of employment via Women’s Care training.
  • Experience working in OBGYN or Primary Care a plus.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable.
  • Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.
  • Must possess the ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of internal personnel, providers, personnel of outside organizations, and patients and their family members, both written and verbally.
  • Must possess good organizational skills, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and be able to work effectively with all levels of aforementioned groups.
  • Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records application, preferably eCW.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
