Job summary

Women’s Care seeks a Medical Assistant to provide professional clinical care, preparing patients for examinations and assisting providers during visits. The role includes room preparation, vital signs, and phlebotomy as directed by the provider.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, MA certification (or the ability to obtain within 120 days in FL), CPR/BLS, and experience in OB/GYN or primary care is a plus. HIPAA compliance and strong organization are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
(FL Only) MA certification preferred OR ability to obtain within first 120 days of employment.
Graduate of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR served in the Armed Forces as a Medical Technician with honorable discharge.
Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR ability to obtain within 30 days of employment via Women’s Care training.
Experience in OB/GYN or Primary Care a plus.
Working knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable.
Must possess good organizational skills and be able to work with multiple tasks concurrently.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patients.
Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures.
Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
Measure, record, and document vital signs.
Where applicable, perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.
Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and maintain a safe, secure work environment by following standards and procedures.

The Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients and family members before, during and after a doctor’s visit.

Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patients.

Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.

QualificationsQualifications:

High school diploma or GED.
(FL Only) Certified Medical Assistant preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within the first 120 days of employment.
To be eligible for employment and to obtain an MA certification, you must be a graduate of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR served in the Armed Forces as a Medical Technician with honorable discharge.
Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within 30 days of employment via Women’s Care training.
Experience working in OBGYN or Primary Care a plus.
Working knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable.
Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.
Must possess the ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of internal personnel, providers, personnel of outside organizations, and patients and their family members, both written and verbally.
Must possess good organizational skills, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and be able to work effectively with all levels of aforementioned groups.
Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records application, preferably eCW.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
