WORK SCHEDULE
  • Part-time, 60% FTE (24 hours per week)
  • Monday, Wednesday and Thursday

Department Description

The Pioneer Square Downtown Programs focus on Harborview's mission population to address health equity issues by increasing access to care in our primary care settings, homeless shelters, housing programs, and community settings for unhoused and vulnerably housed people. Our team includes providers, RNs, mental health practitioners, outreach teams, and providers at the Needle Exchange and mental health centers.

This position supports residents of DESC's Estelle House in Rainier Valley, providing healthcare within a permanent supportive housing setting for formerly homeless individuals with serious mental illness or other disabling conditions. The ideal candidate will be well versed in Harm Reduction and Trauma-Informed Care.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and ready for patients
  • Perform wound care and phlebotomy
  • Prepare medical records for clinic visits
  • Coordinate communication flow in the clinic
  • Maintain patient flow for providers/nurses
  • Arrange for lab specimen transport
  • Schedule appointments and provide care coordination
Required Position Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant course or equivalent
  • Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve within 6 months
  • Valid AHA BLS Healthcare Provider CPR card
