Platinum Dermatology Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant for Coastal Dermatology – Kaplan Camarillo in Camarillo, CA. You will support clinicians, manage patient intake, and maintain accurate EMR records.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in a medical office, strong communication, empathy for patients, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced dermatology setting. CMA certification is preferred but not required; medical assistant training is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.a0Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
• Medical Assistant training is required.
• Experience working in a medical office as a medical assistant is desired.

Responsabilités

• Escort patients to and from the exam room and prepare them for examination.
• Enter complete medical histories and patients' current medications into the chart.
• Assist physician/provider in the room by scribing notes in the patients medical record.
• Assist with biopsies, excisions, sutures, and cosmetic procedures.
• Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-ups.
• Daily cleaning and organizing exam rooms and stocking supplies.
• Laboratory maintenance including cleaning and autoclaving instruments.
• Other back-office duties as assigned.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

• Assist with setting up biopsies, excisions, suture removals, and cosmetic procedures.
• Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Daily cleaning and organizing exam rooms, along with stocking the rooms.
• Laboratory maintenance that includes cleaning and autoclaving instruments.
• Other duties as assigned to the back office.

Qualifications: Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
• Medical Assistant training is required.

Qualifications

• Must have 2-3years of experience working in a medical office as a medical assistant.
• Prior Dermatology and cosmetic experience is preferred.
• Quality written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Strong phone etiquette.
• Teamwork.
• Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
• Able to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with others, patients, and co-workers.
• Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working on electronic medical records.

Equipment Operated

Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Physical Requirements

Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
