Job summary

Platinum Dermatology Partners in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced dermatology clinics. You will support clinicians, escort patients, and document histories to ensure accurate medical records.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams and cosmetic procedures, preparing specimens, and maintaining exam rooms with a focus on compassionate patient care. A High School Diploma or GED and Medical Assistant training are required; CMA is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Medical Assistant training is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from the exam room, preparing the patient for their examination.
• Enter complete medical histories along with patients’ current medications into the chart.
• Assist the Physician/Provider in the room by scribing the notes in the patient’s medical record.
• Assist with setting up biopsies, excisions, suture removals, and cosmetic procedures.
• Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Daily cleaning and organizing exam rooms, along with stocking the rooms.
• Laboratory maintenance that includes cleaning and autoclaving instruments.
• Other duties as assigned to the back office.

• Prior Dermatology and cosmetic experience is preferred.
• Quality written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Strong phone etiquette.

• Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
• Able to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with others, patients, and co-workers.
• Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
• Strong organizational skills.

• Experience working on electronic medical records.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Physical Requirements: Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
