The Opportunity

Greenwich House is seeking a Medical Practice Manager who will be responsible for maintaining structured appointment schedules for medical staff, alerting patients of need for assessments in a timely fashion, and assisting physicians and physician assistants in providing medical care, phlebotomy, and telemedicine services.

Responsibilities
  • Receive clients and monitor vital signs. Enter patient health information into electronic medical record to include patient allergies, medication reconciliation, vital signs, basic patient history prior to patient seeing provider
  • Perform point-of-care/CLIA-waived testing
  • Assist provider with wound care, dressing changes, and minor procedures
  • Assisting with screening tools
  • Urine drug screen/toxicology specimen collection and chain-of-custody procedures
  • Naloxone administration in emergencies once trained
  • Ensure patient confidentiality as required by HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
  • OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard / universal precautions compliance
  • PPE inventory and sharps handling
  • BLS certification
  • Referral coordination
  • Sterilization and instrument processing standards
  • Manage patient appointments and recalls for medical follow-ups.
  • Assist medical staff in the exam rooms.
  • Escort patients to the exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient chart.
  • Manage Telehealth operations, including managing cameras, escorting patients to telehealth rooms, connecting patients to providers, assisting in on-site medical needs, cleaning rooms between patients, etc.
  • Give instructions to patients as instructed by the medical staff.
  • Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.)
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms.
  • Perform routine phlebotomy.
  • Perform Electrocardiograms (EKG’s) and other tests.
  • Enter patient data into electronic medical record, fill out lab forms.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Retrieve data from the electronic medical record for use by the clinicians.
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments.
  • Perform data gathering for quality assurance studies.
  • Maintain inventory and order necessary medical supplies.
  • Maintain working areas in appropriate condition.
  • Perform billing functions.
  • Serve and protect the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements. Enhance practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

What You’ll Bring
  • High School graduate or Equivalency Diploma with Certification as Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist.
  • Experience working with a substance using population preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette. Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and adherence to all standards.
  • Social perceptiveness and service-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Schedule: 35 hours/week

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this position is $50,000 annually. This rate reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of this posting and may be adjusted based on experience, education, and organizational needs.
