The Department of Executive Health at SoLé Mia offers an exciting full-time opportunity for a Medical Assistant (MA) 2.
The MA 2 will perform multi-skilled tasks to assist medical providers, support patient healthcare management, and assist with clinical procedures in a culturally competent manner, adhering to standards of quality, safety, and service. The MA 2 provides hands-on patient care under supervision of a licensed physician, with tasks delegated by the physician or unit/clinic designee. The role requires adherence to ethical and legal standards, emergency response, professionalism, and alignment with the department's philosophy and policies. The MA 2 will monitor care quality and foster a compassionate environment, working closely with nursing leadership to ensure safe care delivery.
The role emphasizes caring science, promoting kindness, supporting patients' emotional and spiritual needs, and establishing trust and a healing environment.
Key responsibilities include prioritizing tasks, effective communication, team participation, utilizing technology, ongoing professional development, and compliance with HIPAA and other regulations. The MA 2 will also assist with routine lab tests, vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, patient transport, sterilization, documentation, and supply management.
Qualifications include a high school diploma, graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program, and certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA). Certification in BLS and HIV/AIDS is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred. Strong communication, flexibility, time management, and confidentiality skills are essential.
