Inova Children's Cardiology in Ashburn is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant 2 for a full-time day shift from Monday to Friday. You will support patient flow, take vitals, prepare patients for exams, and assist clinicians with procedures.

The role includes clerical duties, record-keeping, and collaboration with the care team to ensure safe, efficient patient care. BLS and CMA certifications are required on start, with bilingual Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• About 1 year of clinical practice experience.
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification and CMA certification required on start.
• Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs general patient care including monitoring vital signs and assisting during examinations.
• Checks schedules and organizes patient flow; accompanies patients to exam/procedure rooms.
• Fulfills clerical duties such as handling medical records and lab/x-ray reports.
• Prepares patients for testing (EKG, phlebotomy, injections) and provides basic instructions.
• Maintains environment by cleaning rooms, restocking supplies, and disposing of expired meds.
• Reports patient safety issues and supports quality improvement initiatives.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
