Job summary

Conviva Senior Primary Care, part of Humana, seeks a Medical Assistant 2 for our Weston, FL in-office site. You will serve as the first contact for patient care, handling administrative tasks alongside clinical duties and supporting a team of physicians and advanced practice providers.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours weekly. Compensation ranges from $43,000 to $56,200 per year and is eligible for a bonus plan; comprehensive benefits are available, including

Qualifications

• Completion of MA program or CMA/RMA certification, or 5+ years of provider-approved MA experience.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification.
• Bilingual English and Spanish, must pass proficiency exam.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties: discuss symptoms, obtain vital signs, administer medications and vaccines; phlebotomy and specimen collection; conduct diagnostic tests.
• Sterilize and clean equipment; maintain examination rooms; document information in EMR.
• Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
• Deliver direct patient care within scope of active certification.

As a Medical Assistant 2, reporting to Supervisor, Central Administration, you will be the first contact for patient care, responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. Working onsite, you will perform varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. You will typically work on semi-routine assignments.

As a Medical Assistant 2, you will:

• Perform Clinical responsibilities include discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, and administering medications and vaccines. Additional responsibilities involve performing phlebotomy, collecting specimens, and conducting diagnostic screening tests.


• Sterilize and cleaning equipment, maintaining examination rooms, and documenting information into the electronic medical records system.


• Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.


• Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows.


• Decisions typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments.


• Work within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has latitude over prioritization/timing.


• Follow standard procedures that allow opportunity for interpretation/deviation.

Required Qualifications:

• Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider


• Phlebotomy experience


• High school diploma or equivalent


• CPR Certified


• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam before foreign language communication


• This is a patient-facing role and part of our Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. We require TB screening upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified or Registered – (Arizona, Indiana, & South Carolina candidates require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration)


• Medication/vaccine administration experience


• 1+ years MA experience


• Value-based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $43,000 - $56,200 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
