The University of Miami UHealth Plantation Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant 2 to perform multi‑skilled tasks and support care delivery under supervision of a licensed physician.
The MA 2 provides hands‑on patient care, assists with examinations, nursing procedures and clinical documentation in a fast‑paced setting.
The University of Miami UHealth has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant in their Plantation Clinic location. The Medical Assistant 2 performs multi-skilled tasks to assist the medical providers. The Medical Assistant 2 assists patients’ healthcare management and clinical procedures in a culturally competent manner utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service. The Medical Assistant 2 provides hands‑on care to patients while adhering to regulatory requirements, standards of care, and institutional policies and procedures, under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician. The physician in charge may delegate the tasks to oversee the MA 2 to a Nurse or Designee in charge of the unit/clinic. The incumbent adheres to ethical and legal standards of professional practice, recognise, respond to emergencies, and demonstrate professionalism. The role provides care within the philosophy, mission, vision, and values, as well as within the policies and procedures of the Department of Nursing and the University of Miami. As a professional, monitors the quality of care provided and nurtures a compassionate and healing environment. The Medical Assistant 2 works directly with the Nurse Manager/Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse and/or the Designee in charge of the Unit or Clinic to ensure a safe delivery of care that supports the UHealth mission.

Approved MA Certifications:
provide proof of completion, from an approved educational programme sign an agreement statement, stating candidate shall obtain a National wide or Statewide MA certification no more than 12 months from the date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
