Job summary

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Clinical Ops Diabetes seeks a full-time Medical Assistant 1 in Miami to support providers and patient care. Under supervision, you will prepare exam rooms, collect samples, perform vital signs, and assist with procedures in a culturally competent manner.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, completion of an approved MA program and current MA certifications (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA), plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from an approved Medical Assistant educational program recognized by USDE.
• Active MA certifications (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA) or agreement to obtain certification within 12 months.
• AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with physical examinations.
• Prepare exam rooms with supplies and instruments.
• Perform vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy and document results.
• Keep patient records accurate and up to date.
• Administer medications as directed by the physician.
