Job summary

Actalent in Appleton, Wisconsin is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinic operations by welcoming patients, preparing them for visits, and assisting providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across clinic and hospital settings.

You will room patients, record vitals and histories in the EHR, assist during examinations, educate patients, schedule appointments, and help maintain supplies and equipment while ensuring a smooth, safe patient experience.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • CCMA or RMA preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Comfort working with technology and adapting to updates in EHR/EMR systems and clinic workflows.

Job Description

The Medical Assistant supports clinic operations by welcoming patients, preparing them for visits, and assisting providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This role combines direct patient interaction with clinical and administrative responsibilities, including patient education, basic clinical support, and maintenance of supplies and equipment in both clinic and hospital settings.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and greet patients in a professional and courteous manner upon arrival to the clinic.
  • Prepare patients for provider visits by rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant information in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures as requested, following established clinical protocols.
  • Support the delivery of patient care by performing basic clinical tasks within the scope of a Medical Assistant.
  • Provide patients with appropriate educational materials and reinforce the clinic’s patient education programs.
  • Accurately document patient information, care provided, and follow-up instructions in the EHR/EMR system, including Epic when applicable.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments using the clinic’s appointment scheduling systems.
  • Maintain examination rooms and clinical areas in a clean, organized, and prepared state for patient care.
  • Monitor, manage, and restock medical supplies to ensure adequate inventory for daily operations.
  • Assist in the maintenance and basic troubleshooting of medical equipment used in the clinic.
  • Collaborate with providers, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure efficient clinic workflow and a positive patient experience.
  • Follow clinic policies, procedures, and safety standards in all aspects of patient care and documentation.
  • Adapt to working in multiple clinic and hospital locations within the assigned geographic area as needed.
  • For specialty clinics, apply any required specialty-specific knowledge or experience to support providers and patients.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment

Open to individuals seeking 32-40 hours per week. Must be flexible to work between the hours of 7am and 5pm, will have flexibility of choosing 8 hour, 9 hour or 10 hour shift durations. This position is onsite Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday in Appleton, WI.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Appleton, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.50/hr.
