Job summary

Hanker Systems, Inc. in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant (CMA) to join the team. Location is Wilmington, NC with schedule Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Pay is $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Experience in endocrinology and internal medicine settings is preferred. Candidate will room patients, collect vitals, document in Epic EMR, perform point-of-care testing, assist with EKGs, injections, and diabetes education.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• Current BLS Certification.
• Epic EMR experience.
• Experience in Adult Outpatient Clinic settings.
• Experience in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine clinics.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for provider examinations and consultations.
• Obtain and document height, weight, pulse oximetry, vital signs, and patient histories.
• Review and update medications, allergies, and medical information in Epic.
• Perform point-of-care testing, including blood glucose monitoring and urinalysis.
• Conduct 12-lead EKGs and assist with diagnostic testing.
• Collect, label, and process urine specimens and clean-catch samples.
• Assist with venipuncture and specimen collection when needed.
• Administer immunizations and injections according to provider orders.
• Educate patients on diabetes management, medications, and treatment plans.
• Assist with Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) education and support when applicable.
• Complete follow-up phone calls and communicate test results as directed.
• Process pharmacy refill requests and coordinate patient care needs.
• Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure clinic readiness.
• Follow aseptic technique, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.
• Document all care accurately in Epic EMR.
