Freeman Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support psychiatric practice patients under physician and APN direction. You will provide patient care, document accurately, and participate in trauma-informed care to support individuals with behavioral health needs.
The role emphasizes collaboration with nurses, physicians, and care teams, ensuring smooth patient transitions, precise data collection, and adherence to office protocols and productivity standards.
The Medical Assistant (MA), as directed by the physician(s), advanced practitioner(s) and/or RN/LPN(s), performs patient care activities for office patients and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. MA provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. They will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. The MA will report to the Nurse Coordinator of Adult Psychiatric Practices.
