Ozark Center in Joplin, MO seeks a Medical Assistant to support psychiatry and behavioral health services under physician and NP oversight. You will assist with patient care, coordinate with the care team, and help maintain accurate charting and records.
The role requires a high school diploma, Missouri MA certification, CPR/First Aid, and a compassionate, trauma-informed approach. You will work closely with the psychiatric team to ensure safe, respectful patient experiences.
The Medical Assistant (MA), as directed by the physician(s), advanced practitioner(s) and/or RN/LPN(s), performs patient care activities for office patients and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. MA provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. They will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. The MA will report to the Nurse Coordinator of Adult Psychiatric Practices.
