Job summary

Community LIFE is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses with patient care and clerical tasks. This role also serves as a key liaison for day-to-day workflow and office procedures, focusing on frail elders and Community LIFE standards to ensure quality care.

The position requires a MA program completion or national certification, plus two years of acute care experience, basic computer skills, and knowledge of medical terminology. Phlebotomy training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Familiar with examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.
• Ability to perform duties required as a Medical Assistant.

Job description

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Summary of Job Duties:

The Medical Assistant will assist the physician and nurses with various aspects of patient care (including clerical, environmental and organizational tasks) ensuring patient satisfaction. In addition to core Medical Assistant responsibilities, this position serves as a key person for the team regarding day-today workflow issues and office procedures. The Medical Assistant must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, plan care for and provide services to frail elders according to assigned responsibilities and Community LIFE standards.

Required Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent and successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or a national medical assistant certification from a national certifying organization (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, or NHA)

Required Experience: Two years of experience with patient care in an acute care setting. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.
