What We Are Looking For

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. We value customer‑friendly and passionate employees who put patients and staff first.

Responsibilities
  • Assist providers with exams, including patient vitals, procedures and other direct patient care tasks under direct supervision.
  • Administer all forms of medication per policy and provider direction, following all safety protocols.
  • Perform blood draws and, on request, urine collection for testing such as employer drug screens.
  • Perform splinting, casting, and various physicals such as sports physicals.
  • Provide ear lavage, wound care, and oxygen administration as part of urgent‑care duties.
  • Promptly notify the on‑duty provider of unusual patient occurrences and record incidents.
  • Notify the clinic manager of patient or employee safety concerns.
  • Adhere to laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
  • Be proficient in EMR/EHR.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned in line with company policy.

In addition, you may be asked to support front‑office reception, including informing patients of wait times, monitoring patient flow, processing discharges, collecting payments, securing signatures, and issuing receipts.

Essential Education, Experience and Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
  • OR completed an unapproved (non‑accredited) program and achieved national certification: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or CCMA (NHA).
  • OR completed an unapproved program plus at least one year of supervised practice or 2000 hours of verifiable experience.
  • Other education or experience may be considered with approval from our Compliance and Regulatory department.
