Job summary

Clearway Pain Solutions is seeking a healthcare assistant to provide direct patient care under general direction. Responsibilities include entering patient intake and provider orders into the EMR, requesting medical records, recording vitals and medical history, and facilitating patient flow while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Preferred candidates will have proficiency with MS Office, strong communication skills, and knowledge of HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Enter patient intake and provider orders into the EMR
  • Request medical records and utilize Pharmacy Database Monitoring Program as directed
  • Record vital signs and medical history
  • Facilitate patient flow and ensure patient/customer satisfaction
  • Prepare forms and requisitions as instructed by the provider
  • Verify patient information and interview for accuracy
  • Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and sterile instruments
  • Answer phones professionally and relay messages promptly
  • Assist with injections, ultrasound preparation, and labeling specimens as needed
  • Maintain lab area, procure specimens, and ensure proper shipping

Job description

Under general direction provides direct patient care to patients of Clearway Pain Solutions Responsibilities include entering patient intake and provider orders into the Electronic Medical Record EMR requesting medical records utilizing Pharmacy Database Monitoring Program as directed by providers recording vital signs and medical history collecting patient information and facilitating patient flow Complies with measures to assure that patientcustomer satisfaction results are consistently maintained

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform job in accordance with Company Mission vision and goalsAssists patients with medical forms as necessaryExercise confidentiality in all areas abiding by HIPAA rules and regulationsAccurately completes applicable paperwork; ensuring patient medical records are complete Prepares all forms and requisitions as instructed by the providerCreates and maintains a positive atmosphere of customer service team work mutual respect professionalism and accountability at all timesVerifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit and confirming patient IDTakes and records patient vitalsProperly maintains examination rooms and all other clinical areasAnswers telephones in a professional manner and delivers messages promptlyReturns patient calls in a timely mannerMaintains and improves current skills and knowledge by attending all relevant meetings classes trainings and by keeping certifications currentAdheres to Infection Control Safety and OSHA standards as specified by State and Company standardsMaintains knowledge of and complies with established State Company and any other applicable policies and proceduresInstructs patients in simple procedurestests and dispenses appropriate educational materialsRelays provider orders to the patientPrepares cleans and maintains ultrasound machine as appropriateDraws up injections to be administeredVerifies that radiological and laboratory records are received and in the patient chart If radiological andor laboratory records are not in the chart takes necessary steps to obtain the recordsFits patients for durable medical equipment DME and completes all applicable paperworkObtains prior authorizations for radiology andor prescriptions as neededKeeps rooms clean and stocked with suppliesMaintains stock of medicines and supplies as necessary Advises Office Manager when replacements are neededSterilizes and cleans instruments used in examinations andor procedures; maintains clean and hygienic environmentMonitors personal and provider staff task buckets in the EMRUnder the direction of the physician assists with providing Workers Compensation medicationLabels specimens accurately and distributes them to the appropriate personnel to ensure specimen integrityProcesses specimens and prepares them for shippingMaintain lab area with ample supplies and in a clean and safe conditionFollows test requirements of laboratory and procures unaltered urine specimen for testingParticipate in and complete all required trainings and in servicesActs as a back up for Ancillary Medical Assistants performing Ancillary Medical Assistant duties as directedPerforms other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalentMust have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software MS Word MS Excel MS PowerPoint MS OutlookMust have excellent written and oral communication skills including exceptional customer serviceMust be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors clinical staff other co workers and the publicMust be able to work individually as well as within a teamMust be able to follow both verbal and written instructionsMust be able to work a flexible scheduleMust be able to respond with patience and understanding during stressful conditions related to patient health and emergent situationsMust be able to multi task and prioritizeMust demonstrate extreme attention to detailMust possess strong organization skillsMust be able to problem solve and use reasoningMust be able to meet predefined quality standardsMust maintain and project a professional attitude and appearance at all timeMust have a working knowledge of the healthcare field and medical specialty as well as medical terminologyAll staff are expected to have a strong desire to provide excellent customer service; to comply with the rules and regulations of those organizations to which we are accountable; to have high ethical and professional standards of conduct; and to have an attitude of wanting to continuously improve their own professional performance

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a Nurse Aide Medical Assistant or EMS training program with a current Nurse Aide certification OR a Medical Assistant certification OR EMS LicensureOne 1 year of prior experience working in a medical practiceOne 1 year of prior experience working with an Electronic Medical Record EMRCurrent Basic Life Support BLS certification

Driving

Travel The employee must have reliable transportation Travel for this position may be required up to 100 While the primary workplace may be closest to the employees home work assignments could be in any of the Companys locations
