Job summary

Tennessee Oncology in Nashville seeks a Medical Assistant to provide direct, safe patient care under the supervision of MD/NP. You will take vitals, assist with rooming, and enter data into the EMR to support efficient clinic flow.

Responsibilities include medication verification, patient education, triage calls, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and assisting with procedures. CMA/CCMA preferred; BLS within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant Training Program or 6 months MA healthcare experience.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred (CMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA).
• Current BLS provider card within 3 months of hire.

Screens for and documents pain, distress, clinical depression scores required for each patient visitCompletes “rooming” process including escorting patient to exam roomReviews/verifies medication lists and preferred pharmacy information with patient for accuracy and enters/ updates information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) at each encounterReviews/verifies patient allergies and updates in EMR at each encounterReviews health histories and other assigned historical information with the patient since the last visit and updates in the EMR at each encounter.Completes all required screening questionnaires and enters data in the EMRPrepares patients for examination and or treatment assuring rooms/chairs are turned over in a manner that promotes efficient provider workflow and patient through putReviews need for prescriptions/refills at each encounter. Manages prescription refill extension requests per Tennessee Oncology (TO) policy, procedure, standards.
