Job summary

A-Line Staffing Solutions is seeking a Medical Assistant for on-site duties in West Bloomfield, MI. You will support clinicians in examinations, record vital signs, and assist with procedures in our ambulatory outpatient pediatric care setting.

The role requires MA externship or clinical experience, MA certification or equivalent nursing/EMT background, and solid EHR documentation. Standard daytime shifts with occasional variation; on-site only.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a clinical externship (minimum 160 hours).
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with at least one year of clinical experience within the past five years.
• Current recognized Medical Assistant Certification with at least five years of clinical medical assisting experience.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Paramedic/EMT with one year of recent clinical experience.
• Military-trained medical personnel with at least one year clinical experience within the past five years.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients and escort to exam rooms, prepare for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Obtain vital signs and record in the EHR.
• Assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments per protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare, administer, and document oral, parenteral medications, and immunizations as ordered by the provider, maintaining accurate records.
• Document care provided during patient visits in EHR and respond to patient requests via telephone, messaging, or My Chart.

Perform initial-response screening following protocols approved by supervising provider. Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations, procedures, and treatments. Obtain vital signs and record in the electronic health record (EHR). Obtain and record patient history employing critical thinking skills. Assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments per protocols, policies, and procedures. Prepare, administer, and document oral, parenteral medications, and immunizations as ordered by the provider, maintaining accurate records. Document care provided during patient visits in EHR and respond to patient requests timely via telephone, messaging, or My Chart.

Critical Information

Shift: Monday through Friday, coverage for 4 days per week. Hours: typically 8-4:30, 9-5:30, or 10-7 (one day per week, every other week). Remote: No, this position is on-site at two locations. Environment: Ambulatory outpatient pediatric care adhering to safety protocols, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.
