Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group in Prospect is hiring a Medical Assistant to support a fast-paced outpatient Primary Care office. The role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, and ensuring accurate EHR documentation.

You will help prepare exam rooms, manage patient flow, and collaborate with clinicians and front desk staff to deliver compassionate, efficient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience.
• Associate's Degree in Medical Assistance preferred; National Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms; ensures patient is prepared for examination and minor procedures.
• Obtains patient history, records vitals, and documents in the medical record; serves as scribe between patient and physician.

Description

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is looking for a Medical Assistant to join outpatient Primary Care office located in Prospect.

The Medical Assistant supports patients and providers in a fast-paced Primary care practice. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Prepares exam rooms and helps maintain a smooth patient flow throughout the day. Ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, compassionate, and thrives in a collaborative clinical environment.

What you will do

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms. Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Ensures patient is given appropriate clothing in preparation for the expected physical exam or minor surgeries
• Obtains pertinent history, enters into the medical record including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems, and takes/documents patient vital signs. In treatment rooms, serves as a scribe between patient and physician, documenting all relevant information.
• Processes and files all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, clinical notes in patients' chart after they have been reviewed by the physician. Assures accurate and complete documentation on patient records and notifies providers and other departments of diagnostic testing results.
• Coordinates patient flow in the office. Collaborates with receptionist to make certain that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner. Assists front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience is required
• Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate's Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred, National Certification as a Medical Assistant a plus
