Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group seeks a Medical Assistant for its outpatient Orthopedics office in Enfield. The assistant will support patients and providers in a fast-paced clinical setting, room patients, record vital signs, assist with procedures, and maintain documentation in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience is required
• Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate's Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred
• National Certification as a Medical Assistant a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms; prepares patients for examination and treatment; ensures patient clothing is appropriate for exam or minor surgeries
• Obtains pertinent history and documents medical records including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and review of systems; records vital signs; acts as scribe between patient and physician
• Processes and files lab/diagnostic test results and clinical notes after physician review; ensures accurate documentation and notifies providers of results
• Coordinates patient flow in the office; collaborates with front desk staff to ensure timely, efficient patient visits; assists with scheduling and other duties as needed

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is looking for a Medical Assistant to join outpatient Orthopedics office located Enfield.

The Medical Assistant supports patients and providers in a fast-paced Office. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Prepares exam rooms and helps maintain a smooth patient flow throughout the day. Ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, compassionate, and thrives in a collaborative clinical environment.

What you will do:

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms. Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Ensures patient is given appropriate clothing in preparation for the expected physical exam or minor surgeries


• Obtains pertinent history, enters into the medical record including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems, and takes/documents patient vital signs. In treatment rooms, serves as a scribe between patient and physician, documenting all relevant information.


• Processes and files all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, clinical notes in patients' chart after they have been reviewed by the physician. Assures accurate and complete documentation on patient records and notifies providers and other departments of diagnostic testing results.


• Coordinates patient flow in the office. Collaborates with receptionist to make certain that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner. Assists front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed.
