Job summary

solvENT Management Services in Alabama seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to support doctors in a busy ENT clinic. You will record histories, take vital signs, input data into EMR, and assist with examinations.

This full-time role requires high school diploma and BLS/CPR certification where applicable; EMR experience is preferred. You will help prepare rooms, maintain supplies, and provide patient comfort while cross training across departments.

Qualifications

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting doctors and mid-levels in a busy ENT office providing care to their patients. They record and update medical histories and contact information in patient charts, and schedule patient appointments.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Triage patient and record patient medical history and specific information associated with visit.
• Prepare patients for examination by performing and recording initial vitals such as blood pressure, temperature, weight.
• Report irregular indicators or adverse reactions to physician.
• Clean and prepare exam and treatment rooms.
• Organize and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, sterilize instruments as needed.
• Assist physicians and mid-levels with physical examination and treatments, and perform surgical preps and simple dressing changes.
• Maintain patient medical records to ensure accurate and effective treatment.
• Enter physician orders for tests, procedures, etc. into computer systems. Schedule tests and treatments as ordered.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment. Activities include tidying room, cleaning equipment, changing bed linens, restocking work areas, keeping rooms and hallways clear of debris, emptying trash, cleaning cabinet surfaces, and completing discharge room cleans.
• Cross train in other departments in the office.
• Other duties assigned by the Operations Manager or Physicians.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION (PREFERRED)

• Graduate of Medical Assistant program or Military Hospital Corpsman
• Current BLS card (CPR)

EDUCATION
