BRIGHT LIFE ENHANCEMENT SERVICES LL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient visits by preparing charts, assisting with basic medical care, and coordinating tests and lab reports to ensure timely care.

The role includes scheduling, patient communication, prior authorizations, and managing medical records, inventory, and administrative tasks with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Medical Assisting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • BLS or CMA certification desired.
  • Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience with prior authorizations.
  • Experience with medical records, chart audits, and documentation.
  • Strong communication with patients, providers, pharmacies, and healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, EMR/EHR, and other office software.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for patient visits, pulling charts and notes and setting up medical equipment.
  • Assist doctors with basic medical care and procedures.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with prior authorization requests and follow up on authorization status.
  • Follow up with pharmacies regarding prescriptions and related concerns.
  • Track lab results and ensure proper documentation.
  • Call in prescriptions as directed by the provider.
  • Maintain and update patient charts and medical records.
  • Perform chart audits to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist with medical record pickup and delivery as needed.
  • Create, organize, and maintain medical and administrative documents.
  • Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries.
  • Assist with general medical office management and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies and notify staff when needed.
  • Set up and clean medical equipment and instruments after use.
  • Use spreadsheets to track information, prepare reports, and maintain records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information per privacy requirements.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team! As a Medical Assistant, you will prepare for each patient visit by preparing charts and pulling notes before their arrival, providing routine support alongside nurses and medical staff, and assisting with tracking tests and lab reports to ensure everything arrives on time and patients are kept informed about their care.

You will also assist with medical office operations, including scheduling appointments, coordinating with patients and providers, following up with pharmacies, maintaining medical records, assisting with prior authorizations, and managing documentation. The Medical Assistant may also help manage the inventory of medical supplies, set up machines and testing equipment, and clean instruments and rooms as needed.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service and communication skills, an interest in working in a medical environment, strong attention to detail, and previous medical office or administrative experience.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Medical Assisting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
  • BLS Certification or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification desired
  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with prior authorizations
  • Experience with medical records, chart audits, and documentation
  • Strong ability to communicate and connect effectively with patients, providers, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
