Role Description

The Medical Assistant will support dermatology providers by preparing patients for examinations, assisting during procedures, and ensuring a smooth clinical workflow. Daily responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, updating medical histories, maintaining examination rooms, and handling basic clinical tasks as directed by licensed clinicians. The role also involves managing appointments, coordinating patient flow, supporting front-desk functions as needed, and contributing to accurate documentation and medical record upkeep. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Tucson, AZ, requiring consistent in-person collaboration with the clinical team and direct patient interaction.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Medical Assisting skills, including patient preparation, vitals collection, and support during dermatologic procedures.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to dermatology and general clinical practice.
• Candidates should possess experience in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, patient flow coordination, and basic administrative support.
• Candidates should possess proven Patient Care skills, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and attention to patient comfort and safety.
• Candidates should possess familiarity with Medical Records management, including accurate documentation, chart updates, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current certification or registration (or eligibility) is preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment, follow instructions from licensed providers, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and basic computer proficiency (EHR systems experience preferred).
