Job summary

Skin Cancer Surgery Center in Tualatin, OR seeks a Full-time Medical Assistant (32–40 hrs/wk) to support providers in exams and treatments. You will welcome patients, record vitals, prep rooms, and assist with procedures in a fast-paced Mohs clinic.

The role requires a high school diploma and a Medical Assisting program completion, CPR, and strong communication with patients and staff. Fragrance-free environment and steady schedule offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, manage patient flow, and escort to discharge.
• Take history, assess/triage, measure vital signs, document in chart.
• Explain procedures and prepare patients and exam rooms.
• Assist with procedures, wound care, and instrument handling.
• Perform dosage calculations and manage dressings.
• Complete medical charts, coordinate referrals and follow-ups.
• Stock supplies and assist registration staff as needed.
• Attend all-staff meetings and participate in quality checks.

About Us:

Skin Cancer Surgery Center is a busy Mohs micrographic surgery practice located at 6370 SW Borland Road, Suite 200, Tualatin, OR 97062.

About the Role:

Assist providers with the examination and treatment of patients, following established standards and practices as directed by the physician and/or physician assistant.

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients, keep patient flow running smoothly, and escort patients to the discharge counter
• Obtain patient history, assess/triage patients, measure vital signs, and record information in the chart
• Explain procedures and prepare patients and exam rooms
• Position instruments and equipment and hand them to the provider; clean and sterilize equipment after use
• Use proper safety techniques and disposal measures
• Keep exam rooms stocked with supplies
• Assist the provider with procedures and wound care as directed
• Perform dosage calculations for medications
• Remove sutures and change sterile and non-sterile dressings
• Complete medical charts, including services, test results, and supplies used
• Make patient call-backs, arrange referrals and testing, and schedule follow-up appointments
• Monitor disposable inventory and place orders for supplies
• Perform quality checks on medical equipmentAssist registration staff with clerical duties
• Attend and participate in all-staff meetings

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program
• CPR certification
• Basic computer skills; electronic medical record experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, as well as read and write medical terminology
• Strong communication, customer service, organization, and time-management skills
• Preferably two years of medical assisting experience
• Ability to transport patients by wheelchair and stand for long periods while assisting in surgery

Pay:

$25-$35 per hour
