Job summary

COCOA BEACH FAMILY MEDICINE in New York, Town of Florida, seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses by performing administrative and clinical duties.

You will prepare treatment rooms, take patient histories, record vital signs, draw blood, and assist during examinations. CPR/first aid is required; CMA certification is preferred. This role is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent education.
• CPR and first aid certification required.
• CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Clean treatment rooms after examinations.
• Interview patients to obtain medical history.
• Record patient medical history, vital signs, and test results.
• Perform routine screening tests such as height, weight, and blood pressure.
• Draw blood, remove sutures, and change dressings.
• Purchase and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• Dispose of contaminated supplies properly.
• Assist physicians during examinations by handing instruments.

Job Qualifications

• Education: Certification/high school diploma
• Experience: 1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Licenses/Certifications: CPR and first aid certification required; certification as a medical assistant (CMA) preferred
