CenterWell Senior Primary Care in The Villages, FL seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to support clinicians and front-office staff in a patient-focused, on-site role.

You will perform patient intake, vital signs, documentation, prepare exam rooms, assist during procedures, manage supplies, and help schedule tests and follow-up visits, while adhering to licensing and CEU requirements.

Qualifications

• Active CMA or RMA certification and CPR/BLS within 90 days of employment.
• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Must maintain licensure/certification and meet annual CEU requirements.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of responsibilities in medical practice. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. You will provide information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical service. You will report to a Supervisor, Clinic Administration.

This is an on-site role working in The Villages, FL located at:

Role Responsibilities:

• Processes incoming and outgoing calls/messages.
• Performs patient intake, obtains necessary patient information to file and update patient records.
• Ensures consents are reviewed and completed by clinician.
• Performs pre-encounter prep before patients' visit, including identifying open care gaps.
• Gathers patient data through interview and observation.
• Assists the clinician during medical treatments, examinations, and procedures.
• Prepares patients for examination, performs and documents vital signs, and records patients' health history and medication reconciliation.
• Prepares and sanitizes equipment, examination rooms and instruments.
• Manages inventory of medical supplies and equips exam rooms with appropriate supplies.
• Embraces and participates in quality initiatives, goal attainment, and collaborates on clinical process improvement activities.
• Provides routine treatments and administers approved medication per clinician order within scope.
• Documents patient data, treatments, procedures, and patient education per organizational policies.
• Assists the clinician by being a liaison on behalf of the patient to schedule appointments; provides patient with scheduling information to obtain testing, and/or clinician consultation.

Required Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
• CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider Certification within 90 days of employment.
• 1 + years of experience working within a healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Athena.
• Experience working in a value-based care environment.

Annual Requirements:

• Must maintain current license, certification, or registration.
• Must complete required CEUs for licensure/certification.
• Must maintain current BLS certification.
• EMR and Clinical competencies completed and signed as assigned.
• Precept students and new employees.
• Participate in annual clinical checkoffs for new and annual trainings.
• Help to revise and implement two clinical workflows or procedures.
• Must complete at least 4 educational sessions.
• Must complete 24 CEUs annually.
• Help to revise and implement 2 clinical workflow procedures using current Evidence Based Practice literature or research

Additional Information:

• This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$43,000 - $56,200 per year
