Job summary

Humana Inc. CenterWell Senior Primary Care seeks a Medical Assistant to be the first point of contact for patient care and to handle both administrative duties and clinical tasks onsite.

You will support physicians, maintain examination rooms, and document in the EMR system. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, discussing symptoms, phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and coordinating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant with CPR certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• TB screening program is required as part of Humana's TB screening.
• 1+ years MA experience and knowledge of value-based care practices are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and conduct diagnostic screening tests.
• Sterilize and clean equipment, maintain examination rooms, and document information into the electronic medical records system.

• Interpret department policy and methods for completing assignments.
• Identify work expectations and quality standards; prioritize and time tasks.

Position Overview

Become a part of our caring community. As a Medical Assistant, reporting to Supervisor, Central Administration, you will be the first contact for patient care, responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. Working onsite, you will perform varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. You will typically work on semi-routine assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical responsibilities: discuss symptoms, obtain vital signs, and administer medications and vaccines.
• Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and conduct diagnostic screening tests.
• Sterilize and clean equipment, maintain examination rooms, and document information into the electronic medical records system.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Deliver direct patient care dependent on certification.
• Interpret department policy and methods for completing assignments.
• Identify work expectations and quality standards; prioritize and time tasks.
• Follow standard procedures that allow opportunity for interpretation/deviation.

Sign-On Bonus

Eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus, payable following the applicable terms, conditions, and payout schedule.

Required Qualifications

• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR Certified
• Patient facing and part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program (TB screening required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience
• Medication/vaccine administration experience
• 1+ years MA experience
• Value-based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish – must pass proficiency exam before foreign language communication

Schedule

Weekly Hours: 40

Pay

Pay Range: $43,000 - $56,200 per year (full-time, 40 hours per week). The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. Also eligible for a bonus incentive plan based upon company and/or individual performance.
