Job summary

Humana's CenterWell Senior Primary Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to be the first contact for patient care and handle on-site administrative duties alongside clinical tasks. You will support physicians andAPPs, maintain exam rooms, and document in the EMR, with a focus on quality and patient experience.

The role requires MA credentials, CPR, and a high school diploma, with preferred phlebotomy and vaccination administration experience.

Qualifications

• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant credential required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Medication/vaccine administration experience preferred.
• 1+ years MA experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; proficiency exam required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical responsibilities: discuss symptoms, obtain vitals, administer medications and vaccines.
• Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and conduct diagnostic screening tests.
• Sterilize and clean equipment, maintain examination rooms, and document information in EMR.
• Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
• Deliver direct patient care as allowed by active certification.
• Follow defined policies with some prioritization and timing latitude.
• Follow standard procedures allowing interpretation/deviation.

As a Medical Assistant, reporting to Supervisor, Central Administration, you will be the first contact for patient care, responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. Working onsite, you will perform varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. You will typically work on semi-routine assignments.

As a Medical Assistant, you will:

• Perform Clinical responsibilities include discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, and administering medications and vaccines.
• Additional responsibilities involve performing phlebotomy, collecting specimens, and conducting diagnostic screening tests.
• Sterilize and cleaning equipment, maintaining examination rooms, and documenting information into the electronic medical records system.
• Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
• Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows.
• Decisions typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments.
• Work within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards but have latitude over prioritization/timing.
• Follow standard procedures that allow opportunity for interpretation/deviation.

Eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus, payable following the applicable terms, conditions, and payout schedule.

Required Qualifications:

• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR Certified
• This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy experience
• Medication/vaccine administration experience
• 1+ years MA experience
• Value-based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam before foreign language communication

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$43,000 - $56,200 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
