Forefront Dermatology in Racine, WI is hiring a Medical Assistant for a full-time role in a fast-paced dermatology clinic. You will support the dermatologist by rooming patients, documenting vitals, and assisting with procedures. The position requires CMA/MA credentials and may involve travel to other Forefront locations.

Responsibilities include scribing, wound care, phlebotomy, and coordinating patient flow. Benefits include insurance, PTO, 401(k), and more.

Formación

• Post high-school education in a medical support field is required or equivalent.
• Minimum 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office preferred.
• Must keep current state certifications, licenses and registrations to continue employment.
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.

This Is a Full Time Position And Will Work

Tuesday 7:30a-5:30p
Wednesday 7:20a-3:30p
Thursday 6:50a-2:30p
Friday 7:20a-2:00p

Summary

The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting The Dermatologist With Procedures Such As

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
