Job summary

Quadrant, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Sterling, VA area team. The role involves clinical support, charting, vitals, DME fitting, and processing prescriptions, with occasional front office duties. Travel between Sterling and Annandale is required.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of MA experience, proficient EMR skills, and a strong emphasis on patient care. This is a full-time on-site position with healthcare benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Must have experience with charting and taking vitals.
• Experience fitting DME items.
• Experience handling prescriptions and orders.
• Open to front office duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Report to clinical coordinator or practice administrator.
• Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or PA.
• Assist physician and PA in exam rooms.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and document vitals in patients chart.
• Give instructions to patients as directed by clinician.
• Ensure related reports, labs and information are filed in patient records.
• Keep exam rooms stocked and prepared with supplies and sterilization.
• Take telephone messages and respond to patient/pharmacy calls.
• Triage and process messages between patients, front office and physicians.
• Maintain logs and required checks (e.g., refrigerator temps, medications).
• All other duties as assigned by coordinator or administrator.

Pay From: $20 per hour

MUST

• Experienced Medical Assistant
• 2+ plus years of experience as a medical assistant
• Must have experience with charting/taking vitals
• Must have experience fitting DME items
• Must have experience working with prescriptions/orders
• Must be open to handling front office duties as needed to help out in the office
• Must have experience with EMR systems
• Must be open to travel between Sterling and Annandale

DUTIES

• Medical Assistant will be responsible for the following:
• Report to clinical coordinator or practice administrator
• Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant
• Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms
• Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients chart
• Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant
• Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patient's medical records prior to their appointment
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required
• Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
• Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants
• Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
• All other duties as assigned by clinical coordinator or practice administrator
