Shriners Children’s in Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinic flow, gather routine clinical information from patients and families, and assist with light clerical tasks under the Outpatient Department Manager and Physicians/APPs.
Key duties include transcribing delegated orders into the EMR, maintaining casting/splint guidance, obtaining specimens (venipuncture), and keeping clinic supplies at par levels.

Under the leadership of the Outpatient Department Manager and the indirect supervision of Physicians/APPs, the Medical Assistant assists with the delivery of patient care in the clinic by maintaining clinic flow, obtains routine clinical information on patients/family, provides physical care of the patients, procures and maintains par levels of clinic supplies, and provides light clerical assistance.
Transcribing of delegated orders into the EMR Casting/splint application, maintenance guidance and removal Obtaining specimens, including performing venipuncture
Basic Life Support (BLS) Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program Ability to sit for certification exam from nationally recognized organization (i.e. American Association for Medical Assistants
One to two years' experience as a Medical Assistant Associate's degree Two years' pediatric care experience National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology Certified Phlebotomy Technician The pay range for this position is $19.97 - $29.95. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
