About the Department

Cardiothoracic Surgical Associates is a multi-site practice, but this role will be stationed at our St. John location in professional building 2 on Moross. This clinic has both cardiac and thoracic surgeons working out of it.

As a Medical Assistant, you play a vital role in delivering compassionate and quality patient care. Working under the supervision of providers and nursing leadership, you’ll support the clinical and administrative functions of our healthcare team, ensuring a seamless and positive patient experience. Your contributions directly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years, OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years, OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
