Job summary

Spero Health, Inc. in Somerset, KY seeks a Medical Assistant to join our integrated care team focused on treating the whole person. You will support counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment while performing typical MA duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
• 1–3 years as a Medical Assistant or similar role preferred.
• Phlebotomy and basic lab experience preferred; CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and manage front-desk tasks.
• Answer incoming calls and monitor voice messages.
• Check patients in/out and maintain patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, take vitals, assist with evaluations.
• Call in patient medications as directed by physicians.
• Enter patient data into the electronic health record accurately.
• Process prior authorizations with insurance carriers.
• Daily cash handling and verify benefits for patients.
• Review Prescription Monitoring Database as needed.
• Provide education on medications and resources to patients.

Spero Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our awesome team in Somerset, KY!

This position is for a Medical Assistant who supports the mission of “Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships” in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. The Medical Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Answering in-coming calls and checking voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out, monitor patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, takes vitals, assist with patient evaluations.
• Call in patient medication as directed by Physician.
• Input accurate patient information into electronic health record.
• Sending prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
• Perform daily financial summary and balance of payments received.
• Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
• Provide education and resource information regarding medication.

Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma required
• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred

Experience:

• 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role)
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
• Experience with injections preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
