Job summary

Hanker Systems, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Santa Clarita clinic. The role involves patient rooming, taking vital signs, and preparing patients for oncology provider visits in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of MA experience, CMA and BLS certifications, and proficiency with Epic EMR. Experience in an adult outpatient oncology clinic is preferred, with cross-site support as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for oncology provider visits.
• Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, and pulse oximetry.
• Record patient histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
• Assist providers during examinations and clinical procedures.
• Position and drape patients appropriately for examinations and treatments.
• Label and process laboratory specimens according to protocol.
• Complete chart preparation prior to clinic appointments.
• Coordinate insurance verification and authorization requests.
• Process patient refill requests and pharmacy communications.
• Perform telephone triage and patient follow-up calls.
• Maintain accurate documentation within Epic EMR.
• Stock exam rooms and maintain clinic supplies.
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and high-quality customer service.
• Float to other clinic areas as needed.
