Job summary

California Skin Institute (CSI) is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support physicians in examinations and treatments. You will interview patients, check vital signs, and prepare exam rooms to ensure efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities include assisting with minor surgeries, maintaining supplies, and coordinating tests and treatments. Plastic surgery experience is required, and strong organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a medical assistant.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam/procedure rooms and prepare them for examination.

• Clean and sterilize equipment and maintain biopsy logs and pathology records.

Position Summary

Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical record. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.

Responsibilities

• Accompany patient to exam/procedure room
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment
• Check the schedule and organize patient flow
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
• Ensure that all treatment rooms are cleaned and stock at the end of the workday
• Assist providers in preparing the patient and the facilities for minor surgeries
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including equipment sterilization
• Assist with scheduling of patient's tests and treatments
• Cleaning and spore testing of the autoclave, adhering to scheduled maintenance and maintain record-Maintenance of biopsy log, biopsy slides, and pathology reports
• Process prescription refills in compliance with established procedures, assuring authorization for prescriptions as needed

Requirements

• One (1) or more years of experience as a qualified medical assistant
• Prior experience in plastic surgery is required
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software, Nextech
