Job summary

University Health System - San Antonio is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a licensed provider or nurse. The role also involves clerical duties and support for front-line operations, ensuring adherence to policies and patient relations.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant program or certification, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school or certification from an approved credentialing body for medical assistants is required.
• National certification as a registered Medical Assistant is preferred.
• Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
• One-year experience in a clinic, doctor’s office or ambulatory setting is desirable, but not required.
