Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is hiring a Medical Assistant in Georgia to support dermatologists in patient visits. You will room patients, scribe for the dermatologist, and assist with post-op care while maintaining a friendly and efficient environment.

The role requires at least 1 year in a medical office, CMA/LPN/RN credentials preferred, and readiness to travel to other clinic locations if needed. Strong computer skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant or DERM Tech a plus.
• Dermatology experience preferred.
• Must keep state certifications/licensing current.
• Willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers including MS Office and EMR systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document vital information.
• Scribe information for the dermatologist.
• Provide post-op wound care.
• Draw blood and perform suture removal.
• Clean and stock exam rooms.

The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Schedule:

40 hours per week

Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Friday, 8:00 AM–3:30 PM

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting The Dermatologist With Procedures Such As

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Prefer Dermatology experience
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
